Provider Directory
The Scripps Custom Provider Network offers a selection of providers located throughout
the San Diego area. This network is available to members of both the EPO and PPO
Medical Plans.
National Provider Network is available only to members of the Scripps
PPO Medical Plan who are accessing Tier 2 benefits or enrolled Out-of-Area dependents
of the EPO Medical Plan. The National Provider Network offers a wide selection
of providers throughout California and the United States.
Primary Care Physician (PCP)
Each Scripps Medical Plan member is encouraged to select a PCP from the Scripps
Custom Provider Network. PCPs are identified as Internal Medicine, Family Practice,
General Practice, Pediatrics and OB/GYN. You can assist with your health care by
establishing a relationship with a primary care physician (PCP). He or she can become
familiar with you and better serve you as a knowledgeable advisor for all your health
care needs.
Scripps Custom Provider Network
This provider directory includes the provider network comprised of primary care
physicians and specialists who have agreed to participate as providers to the Scripps
Medical Plans, as well as participating hospitals and other providers. Changes to
the provider network occur continuously. To determine coverage for services to be
provided to you, we urge you to confirm your provider’s participation in the provider
network prior to your visit. You may do so by calling the Scripps Medical Plans
Member Solution Center at (888) 897-4988, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If an employee or employee's dependent(s) resides more than 30 miles from a Scripps
Custom Network PCP, the dependent may qualify for the Out-of-Area plan. The enrolled
employee must contact the Scripps Medical Plans Member Solution Center to enroll
eligible dependents in the Out-of-Area plan. Under the Out-of-Area plan, the eligible
dependent may receive EPO benefits from the Scripps Custom Provider Network or the
National Provider Network. The Scripps EPO Medical Plan pays for covered medical
services provided by a physician, hospital or other health care provider that participates
in the Scripps Custom Network. Medical services by providers that are outside of
the Scripps Custom Provider Network are not covered by the Scripps EPO Medical Plan,
except in the case of an emergency.
